Berlin: Hundreds of people demonstrated in European cities on Saturday against US President Donald Trump and his advisor Elon Musk, following a difficult week for financial markets due to Trump's decision to impose comprehensive global tariffs.
According to Yemen News Agency, the demonstrations were held under the slogan "Hands Up." A protest took place in the German city of Frankfurt, organized by Democrats Abroad, the official organization of Americans living abroad for the Democratic Party.
In Berlin, demonstrators gathered in front of a Tesla showroom owned by Musk, holding signs urging Americans living in Germany to protest to "end the chaos" in their country.
At a rally in Frankfurt's Opera Square, members of Democrats Abroad demanded the US president's resignation, holding signs with messages such as "Restore democracy," "Hands off our personal data," and "The world is fed up with your nonsense, Donald. Go!"
In Berlin, Musk faced criticism with slogans including "Shut up, Elon, no one voted for you," and a dog sported a sign reading "Dogs Against the Efficiency Management Department," referring to a department Musk leads under the current Trump administration aimed at reducing waste and fraud at the federal level.
In Paris, approximately 200 people, mostly Americans, gathered in the Place de la R©publique for an anti-Trump protest. Some participants delivered speeches denouncing the president, and demonstrators waved signs with slogans such as "Resist the Tyrant," "Rule of Law," "Feminists for Freedom, Not Fascism," and "Save Democracy."
Other European cities, including London and Lisbon, also witnessed protests against Trump and Musk. In London, a few hundred people gathered in Trafalgar Square, chanting "Hands off Canada," "Hands off Greenland," and "Hands off Ukraine" while listening to speeches critical of Trump.
