Quran Recitation Contest for Early Grades Continues in Sana’a

Sana'a: The capital Sana'a continues to host the 'Read in the Name of Your Lord Who Created' competition for early-grade students, part of a program aimed at improving reading, writing, and Quran recitation skills using the al-Qa'idah al-Yamaniyyah method.

According to Yemen News Agency, the event is organized by the Higher Committee for Activities and Summer Courses in coordination with the Ministry of Education and the Education Sector in the Capital Sana'a. The initiative reflects a collaborative effort to enhance educational outcomes among young learners, focusing on foundational skills crucial for their academic and personal growth.

The second stage of the competition was held at Imam Ali bin Abi Talib School in Shu'ub District, with strong student participation and cultural and artistic performances that added an engaging educational atmosphere. The event gathered a significant number of participants, showcasing the enthusiasm and dedication of the students involved.

Abdullah Al-Razhi, Deputy Minister of Youth and head of the technical committee for activities and summer courses, emphasized that the competition supports efforts to enhance correct Quranic recitation among early-grade students and strengthens ongoing educational programs. He noted that mastering Quran recitation helps build students' foundational faith-based and intellectual development, reinforcing values, shaping awareness, and preparing young minds for learning-contributing to building a knowledgeable and forward-moving society.
