Sana’a Agriculture Ministry Meeting Focuses on Merger Procedures

Sana'a: A meeting was held in the capital, chaired by Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development, Dr. Khaled al-Hawali, and attended by Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Ammar al-Karim, to discuss procedures for completing the merger process within the Ministry. The session also included the participation of the Ministry's undersecretaries.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting reviewed the work completed and the achievements made in finalizing the executive procedures for transferring and merging units within the agriculture, fisheries, and water resources sectors. Discussions were centered on solutions and necessary measures to address challenges related to the committee's work and implementation mechanisms.

Dr. Khaled al-Hawali emphasized that the merger process is a step taken by the government of change and reconstruction, representing a move towards administrative reform and institutional development. He noted that the current phase signifies a transition from preparing regulations to actual implementation.

Minister al-Hawali explained that the merger committees have finalized tasks related to inventory, analysis, and preparation of reports and regulations, which have undergone technical and legal review. He highlighted the importance of transitioning to the new organizational structure to enhance performance efficiency and simplify administrative procedures.

Al-Hawali also indicated the role of the Ministry of Civil Service and the Higher Committee for Mergers in providing technical and advisory support. The merger process includes four main tracks: financial, administrative, human resources, and technical aspects. He stressed the importance of maintaining service levels during the transition and commended efforts in digital transformation.

Ammar al-Karim highlighted the importance of the merger process as a means to develop institutional performance and enhance integration among sectors within the Ministry. He affirmed the Ministry's commitment to support the merger process, considering it a step towards building effective institutions in line with governmental reform initiatives.

Al-Karim explained that the next phase will focus on implementing practical steps based on approved regulations. The Ministry plans to address any challenges that may arise during implementation to achieve the desired goals and meet citizens' expectations.
