Sana'a: The Sana'a branch of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance has launched the second phase of the "Tasheel" (Facilitation) initiative to help beneficiaries of endowment (waqf) lands and properties regularize their legal status.
According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative, running from Safar 18 to Jumada Al-Awwal 18, 1448 AH, offers a package of exemptions and payment facilities aimed at resolving stalled lease contracts, accumulated rent arrears, and outstanding debts through simplified procedures, enabling beneficiaries to settle their obligations. The initiative also seeks to address longstanding issues in the endowment sector, including inactive contracts and accumulated liabilities, while taking into account beneficiaries' financial circumstances and the country's economic conditions.
Under the program, participants may receive reductions on previous rents and certain fees, exemptions for excess land areas, simplified inheritance contract transfers, faster lease issuance, renewal procedures, and installment payment options. Deputy Governor for Investment Affairs Yahya Jamaan said the initiative is intended to encourage beneficiaries to clear outstanding dues and called for broad support and media coverage to ensure its success.
Deputy Chairman of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance Dr. Fouad Naji said the initiative provides extensive exemptions and facilitations to help beneficiaries settle their endowment obligations. He stressed the importance of field implementation, improving administrative performance, and accelerating the processing of pending cases. Sana'a Endowments Office Director Abdullah Amer noted that the initiative coincides with celebrations marking the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birth and praised the support of the authority's leadership and the Sana'a governorate administration in backing the program.
