Sana’a Meeting Explores Al-Awn Aid Society’s Support for Water Projects in Hajjah

Sana'a: A meeting held in Sana'a discussed the possibility of the Kuwaiti Al-Awn Aid Society supporting water projects in the governorate of Hajjah. The meeting included undersecretary Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water Adel Bader, Hajjah Governor Hilal Al-Soufi, and other officials.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by Engineer Ahmed Al-Mutawakkil, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Haroush, Badr Al-Din Humaidan, Ibrahim Sa'sa'a, Saleh Al-Fallahi, and representatives from the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit. Discussions focused on implementing the Bani Ya'mar water project in Aflah Al-Yaman District and conducting a joint technical study for a water project in the center of Kushar District. The goal is to supply these areas with sustainable drinking water.

Participants also explored the possibility of securing funding to support drinking water projects in the governorate. Undersecretary Minister of Electricity and Water emphasized the commitment to coordinate with the Al-Awn Aid Society to support water projects. The Ministry aims to expand water and sanitation services to underserved rural areas as directed by Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and President Mahdi al-Mashat.

Bader acknowledged the Al-Awn Aid Society's support and expressed hope for continued and expanded water sector interventions. Governor Hilal Al-Soufi praised the Ministry's focus on water and electricity projects, highlighting the need for more projects in remote areas. He assured the governorate's cooperation with the Ministry to overcome obstacles faced by supporting organizations.

The projects manager at the Al-Awn Aid Association confirmed their readiness to fund the Bani Ya'mar water project in Aflah al-Sham district.
