Sana’a Unveils ‘Rabit’ Platform to Bridge Scientific Research with Industry

Sana'a: Acting Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment Sam Al-Bashiri met on Saturday with Chairman of the Supreme Council for Science, Technology and Innovation Munir Al-Qadi to discuss executive plans for utilizing scientific research and innovation to localize industries and economic sectors. During the meeting, attended by economy undersecretary for policies, studies, and planning Fuad Al-Junaid and Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council for Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Nasser Al-Muafa, the 'Rabit' electronic platform was reviewed.

According to Yemen News Agency, the platform aims to establish an effective and authoritative framework for scientific research and networking with the private sector. The goal is to utilize scientific research and innovations to address challenges and difficulties facing the productive and industrial labor market, increase production efficiency and quality, and reduce costs.

Al-Bashiri emphasized the importance of completing the technical procedures for the official launch of the platform. He described it as one of the key outcomes of the expanded meeting organized by the Ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council for Science, Technology and Innovation on directing scientific research and innovation toward industrial localization. He underscored the importance of utilizing local expertise and competencies to strengthen the development of the national economy.
