Marib: The Secretary-General of the Local Council in Ibb Governorate, Ameen Al-Warafi, inspected the progress of work on the first phase of the 30th Street - Sahlul Road project in the governorate center. The phase costs 298 million riyals and is locally funded.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Warafi, accompanied by Deputy Governor Muhammad Al-Marisi and Director of the Public Works Sector, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami, received an explanation from the officials of the implementing entity about the excavation works, concrete pouring, and the construction of retaining walls for this strategic project. The 1,500-meter-long project aims to alleviate congestion within Ibb city and is currently 35% complete.
The Secretary-General of the Local Council stated that the project is one of the strategic initiatives the local authority is relying on to ease traffic congestion in the governorate center, improve traffic flow, and connect various residential and commercial neighborhoods. This will aid in enhancing urban development and facilitating citizen movement.
He confirmed that the local authority prioritizes infrastructure and road projects in its annual plan, despite limited resources. He urged for the project's implementation according to the approved technical and engineering specifications and within the specified timeframe.
The Director of Public Works in the governorate noted that the project represents a shift in Ibb city's road network, as it helps accommodate the increasing traffic density and serves numerous residential and commercial areas. He emphasized the commitment to work in coordination with relevant entities to ensure the continuity of work and address any issues, achieving progress and enhancing the efficiency of the governorate's infrastructure.
