Sana'a: The Shura Council condemned on Tuesday the insults and statements made by the Zionist criminal Donald Trump against the holiest of Muslim sanctuaries and the purest place on earth, Mecca al-Mukarramah.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Council considered this blatant transgression an extension of the systematic Zionist and American policy of arrogance and hostility against the Islamic nation, its faith, and its history, and an embodiment of the deep-seated hatred these colonial powers harbor for religious symbols and sanctities.
The statement denounced the official Arab and Islamic silence regarding the repeated insults by the Zionists and Western colonial powers against Islamic symbols and sanctities, stressing that this inaction and negligence on the part of regimes and governments is what encourages the enemies of the nation to persist in targeting its holy sites without fear of deterrence or accountability.
He pointed out that Mecca, Medina, and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque are fundamental tenets of faith and red lines, and that defending them is a sacred religious and moral duty incumbent upon the entire Muslim nation, both its people and governments.
The Council issued an urgent appeal to the Association of Senates, Shura Councils, and Similar Councils in Africa and the Arab World to convene an emergency session to firmly address this egregious offense and to adopt unified and responsible parliamentary and legislative positions that compel governments to take action to protect Islamic holy sites.
It called upon the Yemeni people to participate in million-strong marches of anger in response to Allah's call and in jihad for His sake, and in answer to the call of the leader of the revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi.
The statement called on the Arab and Islamic peoples, scholars and religious institutions to break their silence and to participate in large and honorable demonstrations and angry marches to emphasize the unity of the nation in the face of tyranny and arrogance, and to push for firm positions that include a comprehensive political and economic boycott of the Zionist entity and its supporters, in order to restore the nation's dignity and put an end to this malicious criminal series that targets Islamic holy sites and symbols from time to time.
