Shura Council, Presidency Secretariat, and Electricity Ministry Protest Insults to Quran

Sana'a: Shura Council, the General Secretariat of the Presidency, and the Ministry of Electricity, Energy and Water organized a protest on Monday condemning repeated insults to the Holy Quran and expressing support for Gaza, al-Aqsa Mosque and Lebanon.

According to Yemen News Agency, the protest denounced the burning of a copy of the Quran by American extremist Jake Lang, describing it as a deliberate insult to Islam and its holy sites. The event was attended by Deputy Director of the Presidency Office Dr. Yahya al-Mahaqeri, Shura Council Secretary-General Ali Abdulmughni, Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water Adel Bader, and Electricity Sector Undersecretary Eng. Ahmed al-Mutawakel.

Protesters raised copies of the Quran and banners expressing anger over repeated offenses against Islamic sanctities. They chanted slogans praising the Quran and rejecting acts that incite hatred and offend Muslims worldwide. A statement read during the protest by the deputy minister of electricity condemned repeated insults against the Quran as repeated violations at al-Aqsa Mosque.

The statement called on Muslims and Arab and Islamic nations to take action through boycotts, mass demonstrations, and support for Palestine, warning against Zionist and anti-Islamic campaigns. It reaffirmed Yemen's support for Gaza and the Palestinian cause, including support for prisoners held in Israeli prisons, and expressed solidarity with Hezbollah in Lebanon while praising the group's actions against Israel.

The statement also stressed readiness for any regional escalation involving the United States and Israel and affirmed continued support for the leadership of Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi. Participants urged Muslims to adhere to the teachings of the Quran, preserve Islamic identity, and support frontline fighters through Eid aid convoys.
