Seoul:South Korean police have expanded their team investigating a series of hacking attacks on financial institutions.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the National Office of Investigation has increased the team by 15 members, supplementing the original 28-member squad. This reinforcement includes digital forensic experts, aimed at enhancing the ability to trace the cyberattacks with international assistance.
This initiative follows President Lee Jae Myung's directive on Tuesday, urging the government to allocate more personnel and resources to mitigate the impact of the recent hacking incidents. The financial institutions affected include Hana Bank, KB Kookmin Bank, and Shinhan Bank.
