Hajjah: The Yemeni Standards, Metrology and Quality Control Authority carried out a surprise inspection campaign targeting ice block production factories intended for human consumption, located along the Sham Road connecting Hajjah and Hodeidah provinces.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Authority explained that the campaign is part of its quality-control programs aimed at ensuring the safety of production facilities, protecting consumers' health, and improving the quality of local products.

Ali Al-Hajjaji, director of the Authority's branch in Hajjah, stated that the campaign included the collection of random samples from partially treated drinking water stations used in ice block production, to be subjected to laboratory testing to verify compliance with the approved Yemeni standards. The inspections also evaluated adherence to technical and health requirements, as well as public safety standards at these facilities.

He noted that the campaign revealed varying levels of compliance, affirming that legal measures will be taken against non-compliant facilities and that follow-up will continue until full adherence to regulations is achieved.

Al-Hajjaji called on citizens to cooperate with the Authority and report any products or facilities suspected of failing to meet standards through the toll-free number (8001222), in order to strengthen community oversight and protect public health.
