Sana'a: The Traffic Police and the Yemeni Red Crescent Society have unveiled a collaborative initiative aimed at enhancing ambulance services across the long roads connecting various governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, the initial phase of this plan involves the Yemeni Red Crescent providing traffic road centers with ambulances, complete with personnel and medical supplies. In addition, first aid materials will be supplied, warning and directional signs will be installed at hazardous bends, and training courses in first aid will be conducted for traffic personnel. Awareness campaigns for drivers are also part of this comprehensive approach.
During the launch event, Brigadier General Dr. Bakeel Al Barashi, Director General of the Traffic Police, emphasized the critical nature of this collaboration with the Red Crescent in terms of safeguarding travelers and improving road safety. He acknowledged the Yemeni Red Crescent Society's significant role in supporting these humanitarian efforts.
Dr. Abdullah Al Azab, Executive Director of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society, expressed his appreciation for the accomplishments of the Traffic Police. He reaffirmed the Society's dedication to supporting these initiatives to ensure service continuity and achieve tangible results in the field.
The deployment of ambulance teams at traffic road centers is set to commence before the Eid al-Adha holidays, with distress calls to be managed via a toll-free number (194).
