Sana'a: First Undersecretary of the Capital Secretariat, Khaled Al-Madani, inaugurated a tree-planting campaign in several streets and neighborhoods of Azal District as part of activities marking the anniversary of the Prophet's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the launch event was attended by the Head of the Agriculture Sector in the Secretariat, Mohammed Hajar, Azal District Director Mohammed Al-Ghleisi, and social figures. The campaign saw the planting of dozens of fruit-bearing trees in residential neighborhoods and main streets, aligning with the sector's plan to expand green spaces and enhance the urban landscape of the capital.
Al-Madani highlighted that the campaign reflects the leadership's directives and embodies a faith-based identity in agriculture and environmental preservation. The activities aim to underscore the significance of the Prophet's birthday, reinforcing its importance to Yemenis.
Hajar mentioned that all trees and saplings were supplied by the Agriculture Sector's nursery. The sector is executing various community initiatives and tree-planting campaigns across districts, including Algeria, Al-Qiyada, and Al-Sittin Streets, and the Al-Thawra and Bani Al-Harith areas. Efforts also include rehabilitating and planting greenery in Al-Sa'ah roundabout. These initiatives aim to enhance the city's visual appeal and promote environmental and social awareness about tree preservation.
Al-Ghleisi stressed the importance of joint official and community efforts to ensure the initiative's success and the ongoing care of the planted trees, contributing to a healthier and cleaner environment, reflecting the capital's status and serving its residents.
