U.S. Crimes in Yemen Highlight Ongoing Controversy Over International Human Rights Violations

Sana'a: America has faced accusations of committing heinous crimes against the Yemeni people, including recent massacres at Ras Isa Port in Hodeida Governorate and the Farwa neighborhood and market in Sana'a. These events have drawn attention to a broader pattern of violence attributed to the United States, reminiscent of its controversial historical actions in Vietnam, South Africa, Afghanistan, Iraq, and other regions.

According to Yemen News Agency, the atrocities at Ras Isa Port and the Farwa neighborhood are not isolated incidents but part of a continuum of actions by successive American administrations. This includes support for the apartheid regime in South Africa, arming Israel for prolonged conflicts in Palestine, involvement in Lebanon during the 1980s, and backing Israeli military actions in Gaza.

The Ras Isa Port, contrary to U.S. claims, is a civilian facility tasked with handling oil and gas derivatives for distribution to Sana'a and other Yemeni regions. The U.S. administration's inability to achieve its strategic goals in Yemen, particularly concerning the country's support for Palestine, has reportedly led to reckless targeting of Yemeni civilians and infrastructure, including recent intense airstrikes on Ras Isa Port and Hodeida's airport.

While the U.S. claims to uphold human rights, its tardiness in ratifying significant treaties like the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide contrasts with its actions. Human Rights Watch Executive Director Kenneth Roth has criticized the U.S. stance on international human rights law, attributing it to "fear and arrogance."

The international community and local entities have condemned the attacks on Ras Isa Port and the Farwa neighborhood, viewing them as part of an ongoing campaign to destabilize the region and support genocidal policies. These actions are seen as reinforcing America's image as a supporter of terrorism against Yemenis, aligning with Zionist interests.

Despite these accusations, the U.S. has not achieved its objectives in Yemen. The Yemeni public responded with large demonstrations and military actions, including the downing of American drones, signaling their unwavering support for Palestine and opposition to U.S. policies.

The current U.S. administration is perceived as disconnected from reality, with promises to end conflicts appearing increasingly illusory. The ongoing aggression in Yemen and support for Israeli actions in Gaza have only deepened the crisis, underscoring the complexities of U.S. foreign policy in the region.
