Sana'a: On this day, May 1, the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression targeted industrial and service facilities, residential neighborhoods, and roads in several Yemeni governorates, committing acts that have been described as war crimes and genocide against the Yemeni people.
According to Yemen News Agency, on May 1, 2015, airstrikes resulted in the death of 20 citizens and injured more than 50 others, including women and children, in the Al-Marawan neighborhood of the Sawan residential area in Sana'a. The airstrikes also targeted Sana'a International Airport and several other key locations, leading to extensive damage to civilian infrastructure.
In Taiz Governorate, airstrikes targeted multiple sites, resulting in casualties and damage to civilian areas. The aggression's air force also targeted the Al-Saq' Dam, injuring several civilians. In a separate incident, a truck driver transporting diesel fuel was killed during an airstrike.
The aggression continued with airstrikes and artillery shelling in Saada city and surrounding areas, causing injuries and damage to homes and shops. In Aden Governorate, the air forces targeted mills, ports, and airports, further exacerbating the situation for civilians.
Subsequent years saw continued aggression, including the shelling of civilian areas by mercenaries, as seen on May 1, 2016, and the targeting of fishing boats by airstrikes in 2018. In 2019, more than 150 fishermen were kidnapped off the coast of Hodeida, while heavy shelling targeted various areas in the governorate.
On May 1, 2021, Saudi missile and artillery shelling resulted in the death of a woman in Saada Governorate. Airstrikes and shelling continued in various districts, impacting civilian lives and infrastructure.
The aggression persisted into 2022, with air raids and shelling reported in Hodeida Governorate, further endangering lives and property. The continued conflict highlights the severe impact of the aggression on Yemen and its people, with ongoing calls for accountability and justice.
