Sana'a: On this day, February 12, the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression committed new crimes against the Yemeni people, resulting in a number of civilian casualties.
According to Yemen News Agency, on February 12, 2016, a citizen was killed in an airstrike targeting the Yakhtal area in Al-Makha district, Taiz governorate. This marked the beginning of a series of violent incidents on this date in subsequent years. Several citizens were injured from an airstrike on a power generator hangar at the "Fun City" amusement park in Al-Sab'een district, leading to a fire that damaged the park and nearby structures. Numerous airstrikes were reported in various districts, causing widespread destruction to property and livestock.
In 2017, airstrikes continued to wreak havoc, with significant damage inflicted on the Development Authority building in Al-Hodeidah and areas in the Al-Khokhah district. Airstrikes on fishermen's hangars and residential areas resulted in further destruction, while the use of cluster bombs in some attacks exacerbated the situation.
The following year, in 2018, seven citizens were killed when a water well in Al-Salu district was targeted. The airstrikes on Al-Dailami Air Base in Sana'a and agricultural lands in Marib further contributed to the devastation. Meanwhile, the return of 39 detained fishermen to Al-Hodeidah provided a rare moment of relief amidst the chaos.
In 2019, Baqim district and other areas in Saada governorate faced a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling, leading to significant damage to both public and private properties. Al-Hodeidah also suffered from shelling, particularly impacting agricultural areas and infrastructure.
The aggression persisted into 2020, with airstrikes targeting areas in Al-Dhalea, Marib, and Al-Jawf, resulting in substantial property damage. The shelling of residential areas in Al-Hodeidah and Sa'ada added to the growing toll of destruction and displacement.
On February 12, 2021, two citizens lost their lives, and two more were injured by Saudi border guards' fire in Saada, with numerous airstrikes damaging homes and property in Marib and Al-Hodeidah. The situation remained tense as reconnaissance aircraft strikes and artillery fire continued to target various regions.
The cycle of violence continued in 2022, with casualties reported from Saudi army fire and unexploded ordnance incidents. Haradh district in Hajjah and multiple areas in Marib and Sana'a governorates experienced a series of airstrikes, resulting in extensive damage.
Most recently, on February 12, 2023, three citizens were injured by Saudi army fire in Saada, while military fortifications were established in Al-Hodeidah, further escalating tensions. Artillery and gunfire continued to target several locations, underscoring the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in the region.
