Water Projects Launched to Enhance Services in Sanaa Governorate

Sanaa:Three sites in Al-Sanaa Al-Jadidah, Sanhan, and Bani Bahlul districts have been handed over for the commencement of water projects in Sanaa Governorate. These projects are set to enhance water services in the region.

According to Yemen News Agency, the projects are being supervised by the General Authority for Rural Water and funded by the Yemeni Red Crescent Society. They include the Hamal water rehabilitation project in Al-Sanaa Al-Jadidah District, which will feature a solar-powered pumping system, galvanized pipes, control valves, and a 75 cubic meter concrete tank. This project is valued at $66,000.

Additionally, the Sahar water project in Sanhan District will undergo rehabilitation, including a solar-powered pumping system, control valves, and tank maintenance, at a cost of $104,000. The Beit Al-Jaki water project involves the installation of a solar-powered pumping system, galvanized pipes, and a 100 cubic meter concrete tank, costing $98,000.

Fares Al-Kahali, the governorate's undersecretary for services affairs, emphasized the importance of these projects in meeting citizens' needs and improving basic services. He highlighted the successful cooperation between the local authority and the Red Crescent Society and stressed the necessity of timely and specification-compliant project implementation.

Engineer Yahya Al-Shahari, director of the General Authority for Rural Water's branch, stated that this initiative represents a significant enhancement to the water sector, aiming to stabilize and improve water access for citizens. He acknowledged the support from the revolutionary leadership and local authorities in prioritizing rural water services.

Water projects engineer Rami Makhshaf and project field officer Jabran Muti' from the Red Crescent Society explained that the projects aim to lower water system operating costs while ensuring the provision of adequate and safe drinking water to the communities.
