Yemeni Ministry Condemns Facebook and X for Banning Opposing Accounts

Dhaka:The Ministry of Information expressed strong disapproval of actions taken by Facebook and X to ban numerous Yemeni pages and accounts associated with media figures opposing Saudi aggression in Yemen.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Ministry described this action as illegal and an attempt to silence voices and hide facts in favor of the American-Zionist-Saudi narrative against the Yemeni people. They emphasized that these efforts would not succeed in achieving their goals nor affect Yemen's advanced media stance in confronting Saudi actions against Yemen.

The statement highlighted the massive media campaign targeting the Yemeni people alongside the escalation of ground aggression by Saudi forces, designed to undermine the morale of Yemeni society. However, the Ministry claimed that, with divine assistance, this campaign has failed, resulting in counterproductive outcomes for its initiators. The closure of accounts was seen as a desperate attempt to support the ongoing media and psychological warfare against the Yemeni populace.

Responsibility for these measures was attributed primarily to the United States and the Zionist entity, with Saudi Arabia playing a significant role. The Ministry sees this as part of a larger strategy involving malicious intentions for further escalation in Yemen, targeting civilians and infrastructure while suppressing free voices on social media.

The Ministry declared that the banned accounts had effectively exposed the narrative of the Saudi regime, leading to their closure by regimes that claim to support freedom of expression. They called on global media outlets, activists, and influencers to stand in solidarity with Yemen, condemn the actions of Facebook and X, and support the Yemeni narrative by highlighting Saudi crimes against Yemen. The Ministry also mentioned that Yemeni authorities are considering appropriate responses to these aggressive actions.
