Beirut: The Revolution Leader, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, has emphasized Yemen's exceptional and significant role in supporting Gaza, particularly in the military field. Addressing participants at the 34th session of the Arab National Congress in Beirut, al-Houthi highlighted the comprehensive efforts made by Yemen, backed by broad popular support.
According to Yemen News Agency, al-Houthi revealed that Yemen has conducted 1,830 military operations in support of Gaza over the past two years. These operations included the use of ballistic and cruise missiles, drones, and naval vessels. He noted the targeting of 228 enemy-affiliated ships in naval operations, which led to the closure of the port of Umm al-Rashrash and substantial economic losses for Israel.
Al-Houthi further disclosed that Yemen had successfully downed 22 American MQ-9 drones, disrupting U.S. military plans aimed at undermining Yemeni capabilities. Yemeni naval forces also faced off against five U.S. aircraft carriers and their fleets, forcing a strategic withdrawal, with the U.S. acknowledging the intensity of these confrontations.
He underscored the timing of the congress as an opportunity to craft wide-ranging responses to challenges facing the Ummah. Al-Houthi criticized the aggressive aims of the Israeli enemy and its collaboration with the United States, which he said are intended to reshape the Middle East and establish a "Greater Israel."
Al-Houthi cautioned against complacency within the Ummah and stressed the importance of preserving sovereignty and dignity. He accused the Israeli and U.S. partnership of imposing a narrative that victimizes the rightful parties and empowers aggressors.
Highlighting the plight of Palestinians in Gaza, al-Houthi described the situation as genocidal and called upon the international community to recognize the crimes committed. He cited the resilience of Gaza and Lebanon as examples of effective deterrence against Israeli aggression.
The Revolution Leader also noted Yemen's extensive popular mobilization efforts, including mass marches and training exercises, which have bolstered national resistance to siege and aggression. He emphasized the continuation of these activities as essential to maintaining pressure on the Zionist enemy.
Al-Houthi concluded by urging continued effort to strengthen power and unity among Arab nations. He called for vigilance against attempts to undermine the achievements of steadfastness, advocating for collective action in confronting threats to regional security and stability.
