Sana'a: The Youth and Sports Office and the Youth Unit of the Mobilization Forces in Sana'a governorate have initiated activities to commemorate the Day of al-Wilayah 1446 AH, beginning with a sports event that is part of a larger sports league for the districts of Sanhan and New Sana'a.

According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Governor Talib Dahan highlighted that the annual commemoration serves as a reminder of the Muslims' connection to divine directives concerning the guardianship of the Prophet's family. He stressed the importance of instilling these values in future generations.

Abdulmohsen al-Sharif, Director of the Youth and Sports Office, provided details about the event's activities, which include football, a marathon, and volleyball. These activities are designed to develop the capabilities of the youth and shield them from negative influences.

The football tournament, which spans 15 days, features 12 teams. In the opening match, al-Rasoul al-Adham (Sanhan) emerged victorious over al-Aqsa (New Sana'a) with a 3-2 scoreline.
