Sana'a: Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah inspected on Wednesday the progress of several water and sanitation service projects in the Capital Sana'a.
According to Yemen News Agency, Allamah Miftah, accompanied by the Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Ammar al-Karim, the Mayor of the Capital Sana'a, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, and the Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, Adel Bader, reviewed the progress of the rainwater and floodwater harvesting lake project in the Airport area of Bani al-Harith District.
They, along with the First Undersecretary of the Capital, Khalid al-Madani, the Head of the Social Affairs Committee and Deputy Head of the Development Team, Hammoud al-Naqeeb, and the Undersecretary of the Works and Projects Sector, Engineer Abdulkarim al-Houthi, listened to a briefing from the engineers on the project's progress. The project, being implemented by the Executive Unit for Road Construction, Repair, and Maintenance, is being funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit of the Governorate at a cost of 600 million riyals.
The Acting Prime Minister and his delegation also reviewed the progress of the second phase of the 700 mm diameter main sewage pipeline project in Dhahban and Shamlan, spanning 2,500 meters and costing pound 600,000. This phase is funded by the Social Fund for Development and overseen by the Secretariat's Projects Sector.
They also inspected the ongoing work on the sewage network connection project for the Al-Nahda neighborhood in Al-Thawra district. This project covers 7,520 linear meters and costs pound 394,565, also funded by the Social Fund for Development and overseen by the Secretariat's Projects Sector.
The Acting Prime Minister listened to a briefing from the Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in the Capital Sana'a, Engineer Mohammed Mada'is, and other engineers. The briefing covered the components of both projects, the work completed, and their importance in improving and expanding sewage services in the targeted areas and neighborhoods.
