Shabwa: Shabwa Governor Awad Al-Awlaki warned residents of Shabwa and the occupied southern governorates against joining Saudi-backed recruitment camps, urging them not to fall victim to plots targeting Yemen, its people and resources.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Awlaki stated that the establishment of Saudi recruitment camps in several governorates and efforts to recruit people from Shabwa and other southern and eastern governorates reflect Saudi attempts to ignite fronts using southern Yemenis to serve Israeli and U.S. agendas. He called on the people of Shabwa to assume their national responsibilities and coordinate with patriotic figures, warning against attempts by Saudi-backed forces to recruit southerners to fight Yemen.
Al-Awlaki praised southerners who have refused to fight alongside Saudi Arabia for money, emphasizing their rejection of efforts to undermine Yemen's sovereignty, security, independence, and dignity. He remarked that Saudi-backed calls for an attack on Sana'a are merely slogans promoted from Riyadh hotels, claiming that Saudi Arabia's ambitions have failed despite more than 11 years of war.
The governor reiterated his support for the military operations carried out by the Yemeni armed forces against Saudi-backed forces, describing them as serving Yemen's rights, sovereignty, and future. He emphasized Yemen's demands for the lifting of the blockade, an end to military aggression, withdrawal from Yemeni territory, compensation for damages, and respect for Yemen's sovereignty.
Al-Awlaki accused Saudi Arabia of continuing to delay its commitments, stating that this had placed the Yemeni armed forces under a national responsibility to defend Yemen's sovereignty, security, stability, and independence.
