Al-bayda: The Technical Education and Literacy sectors in Al-Bayda Governorate inaugurated the activities commemorating the blessed Mawlid al-Nabi (Prophet's Birthday), peace and blessings be upon him, on Monday.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the inauguration ceremony, which was attended by Governorate Deputies Zain Al-Riyami and Nasser Al-Wahbi, Deputy Governor Saleh Al-Mansouri emphasized the significance of celebrating the Prophet's Birthday. He noted its deep importance in the hearts of Yemenis and Muslims worldwide. Al-Mansouri highlighted that the Mawlid is a unifying religious occasion for Muslims globally, underscoring that the descendants of the Ansar (Supporters of the Prophet) continue to lead the global celebration of the Prophet's legacy.
Al-Mansouri further stated that honoring this religious occasion sends a message to the enemies of Islam about the strong bond between Yemenis and the Prophet, the "Mercy to the Worlds." It serves as a response to repeated offenses against Islamic sanctities, particularly the Holy Quran. He recounted the patience and steadfastness in the Final Prophet's mission, drawing lessons from his life in resisting tyranny and upholding truth. He added that history repeats itself, just as the Ansar in Medina supported and embraced the Prophet. Yemen today stands with the oppressed in Palestine, reflecting timeless values and principles.
The event was attended by Education Sector official Sarhan Sawad, Literacy Directors Nabil Gharamah and Ahmed Al-Rassas, and Technical Education and Vocational Training official Mohammed Al-Zalaf. Al-Zalaf stressed that celebrating the Prophet's Birthday is a religious and moral duty, providing an opportunity to raise awareness of the values of the Prophet's message, which represent the path of dignity and honor for the nation.
He stated that drawing lessons from the Prophet's noble biography is key to confronting current challenges, particularly the siege, starvation, and aggression faced by the Palestinian people. He added that commemorating the Mawlid reflects Yemen's adherence to its faith identity, rejection of hegemony, colonialism, and readiness to sacrifice for the nation's causes. Meanwhile, Al-Bayda City Education official Mohammed Al-Harithi highlighted the occasion's greatness as a spiritual milestone to strengthen connection with the Prophet in all aspects of life, drawing inspiration from his values in work, struggle, and development.
