Sana'a: Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Al-Nu'aimi and Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Ruwayshan inaugurated the second charitable medical camp for obstetrics and gynecology at the University of 21 September for Medical and Applied Sciences. This event coincides with the celebration of the anniversary of the noble Prophet's birth (Mawlid al-Nabawi).
According to Yemen News Agency, the inauguration was attended by Minister of Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Sa'adi and Governor of Sana'a Abdulbasit Al-Hadi, along with other key officials such as the Governor of Al-Mahwit Hanin Qutainah and Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hatem Al-Da'ais. The University President Dr. Mujahid Maasar and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Dr. Salwa Al-Ghamiri provided explanations about the camp's objective of delivering specialized and free healthcare services in obstetrics and gynecology to the most needy segments of society.
The camp, which runs for three days, offers a variety of medical services including examinations, consultations, laboratory tests, medication dispensing, and diagnostic radiology services at the university's Medical Complex for Consultative Clinics. Al-Nu'aimi and Al-Ruwayshan also visited several university facilities, emphasizing the practical opportunities provided to medical staff and students of the university.
The officials commended the university's community role in bridging the gap between academic institutions and the local community. The initiative is aimed at alleviating the suffering of poor families, especially amid the challenging economic conditions that restrict access to basic health services for many women.
Dr. Maasar, the University President, highlighted that the camp is a manifestation of the university's commitment to its humanitarian mission, targeting over four thousand beneficiaries. The camp is supported by consultant medical staff, laboratories, and necessary equipment, aiming to ease health and financial burdens on families affected by the repercussions of aggression and siege.
