Sana'a: The head of the national negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, affirmed Friday that Bab al-Mandab will not be closed as some claim, and that the blockade applies only to the Saudi side.
According to Yemen News Agency, Abdulsalam clarified in a tweet on the "X" platform that the Yemeni Armed Forces have declared that any action concerning Bab al-Mandab is restricted to a maritime blockade affecting only the Saudi side. This blockade is described as a retaliatory measure against the Saudi regime's ongoing siege of Yemen.
Abdulsalam further emphasized that the blockade stems from Saudi Arabia's persistent refusal to engage in fair negotiations aimed at ensuring the security, sovereignty, and independence of the Yemeni people. He reiterated that the Yemeni stance is a direct consequence of the Saudi actions and is aimed at achieving a balanced resolution to the conflict.
