Cabinet Approves Draft Regulations for Streamlining Public Service Units

Sana'a: The Cabinet, led by Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah, has approved several draft regulations and organizational structures aimed at enhancing the efficiency of public service units. This decision comes as part of a broader initiative focusing on fundamental change and administrative development within these units.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Cabinet's session began with a solemn recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Al-Fatiha in honor of martyred leaders, including Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi. The Cabinet also addressed recent statements by Leader Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi concerning repeated desecrations of the Holy Quran, urging a unified Muslim response and proposing economic boycotts against offending nations.

During the session, the Cabinet reviewed preparations for the upcoming central celebration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, scheduled for Rabi' al-Awwal 12 in Sana'a and other provinces. They emphasized the importance of these celebrations in preserving the Yemeni people's faith-based identity and called for collective efforts to ensure their success.

The Cabinet also commended the Yemeni armed forces for their recent military operations against Saudi forces, highlighting their preparedness and strategic responses. Furthermore, the Cabinet reiterated its demands for the cessation of aggression, lifting blockades, and compensating the Yemeni people for losses incurred.

In terms of international issues, the Cabinet condemned Israeli actions at Al-Aqsa Mosque and reaffirmed Yemen's support for Palestinian resistance and the broader axis of jihad and resistance across the region, including Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon.

Domestically, the Cabinet discussed a draft law concerning expert services before judicial authorities and amendments to the Sharia Endowments Law. Both drafts were referred to committees for further review. Additionally, a matrix of measures to address weaknesses in transaction processing was approved to combat extortion and bribery in service provision.

The Cabinet's approvals also included establishing a General Authority for Information Technology and Cybersecurity. This new body aims to enhance network and system security, foster public-private partnerships, and improve overall information safety.

Lastly, the Acting Director of the Prime Minister's Office provided an update on the implementation of the Cabinet's 1447 AH work plan, indicating progress in administrative reforms.
