Hodeida: The Cancer Control Fund today implemented the second phase of a training program for school health supervisors on the fundamentals of cancer awareness and prevention methods. The second phase targeted 40 participants from the school health staff in Hodeida schools.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Madani, Chairman of the Fund's Board of Directors, explained that this phase is a continuation of the Fund's efforts to enhance the skills of school health supervisors and equip them with essential knowledge about risk factors, prevention methods, and early detection, thus contributing to the dissemination of health awareness within schools.
He emphasized that the Fund is proceeding diligently to implement the National Cancer Control Strategy, noting that training and qualification programs for school health supervisors are among the most important tools of this strategy, given their direct role in health education within schools. Dr. Al-Madani pointed out that building community awareness begins with the younger generations, stressing the importance of instilling sound health knowledge in students through qualified personnel capable of delivering awareness messages scientifically and accurately, with the aim of creating a generation aware of the risk factors and methods of cancer prevention.
He called on everyone to join forces and cooperate with the Fund to spread awareness among all segments of society, contributing to reducing annual incidence rates and ultimately achieving the desired control. He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research and its ongoing cooperation, affirming that the Ministry has provided all necessary facilities for implementing qualification and training programs for school health supervisors in various governorates.
