Gaza: The Gaza Center for Human Rights stated that the continued systematic violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip by Israeli enemy forces over the past seven weeks confirm the ongoing genocidal campaign against Palestinians, amidst a disturbing global silence.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Center explained that its field monitoring teams have been recording daily violations that have not ceased since the agreement came into effect on October 10th. The statement emphasized that aerial and artillery bombardments, incursions, targeting of civilians, restrictions on aid delivery, and prevention of movement and travel are all recurring incidents that reflect the absence of any genuine commitment to halting military operations.
The human rights center stated that documented data shows that the violations committed by the Israeli army over 47 days were widespread and systematic, resulting in the deaths of 350 Palestinians, including 198 from the most vulnerable groups-children, women, and the elderly-representing 56.6% of the total.
The center noted that among the dead were 130 children, 54 women, and 14 elderly individuals, pointing out that the majority of victims were targeted within the area designated as the "yellow line" under the ceasefire agreement.
It also indicated that the Israeli aggression during this period resulted in injuries to 889 Palestinians, 539 of whom (60.6%) were children, women, and the elderly.
The center confirmed that the number of violations exceeded 535 during the 47 days, averaging more than 11 violations per day. These violations included gunfire, aerial and artillery bombardments, incursions by military vehicles, arrests, and house demolitions.
He pointed out that the enemy did not adhere to the agreed-upon withdrawal plan, continued to impose fire control within civilian areas, and deliberately carried out daily destructive attacks targeting hundreds of homes and buildings that had survived the previous two years of war.
The human rights center also noted the enemy's deliberate undermining of the humanitarian environment by restricting the entry of aid. Only 211 trucks entered Gaza daily, despite claims of allowing approximately 600.
It further noted that the Gaza Strip remains deprived of fuel, and the entry of medical equipment and materials necessary for rehabilitating bakeries and water and sanitation networks continues to be blocked. Essential supplies remain stuck at the crossings, while thousands of trucks are backed up awaiting approval that has yet to be granted.
The center emphasized that these measures violate the rights to food, health, housing, and water, exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe, and hinder recovery from the effects of the starvation and famine that have plagued the Gaza Strip and led to widespread malnutrition.
It explained that the enemy continues to close the Rafah crossing in both directions, preventing travel through it, and continues to detain hundreds of prisoners and missing persons, refusing to disclose their fate. He emphasized that he receives repeated testimonies from released detainees revealing enforced disappearances, ill-treatment, torture, and sexual violence.
The human rights center affirmed that these incidents demonstrate that what is happening are not isolated events, but rather a direct continuation of the genocidal campaign that the residents of the Gaza Strip have endured for two years.
It stated, "The same pattern of widespread killing continues, along with the destruction of the living environment and the imposition of living conditions that target the civilian population, aiming to eliminate them and destroy their livelihoods."
The center added that 47 days after the ceasefire agreement, the aggression has not stopped, protection has not been achieved, people's lives remain at risk, the humanitarian situation is dire, and the recent storm has exposed the severity of the situation, causing hundreds of tents to flood.
The Gaza Center for Human Rights called on the international community to break its silence, warning that silence exacerbates the crimes and provides the enemy with political cover to continue its attacks.
The center stressed that the States Parties to the Geneva Conventions have a direct legal responsibility to act, launch serious investigations, activate accountability mechanisms, and exert pressure to immediately halt the violations and ensure the protection of civilians.
It affirmed that the reality on the ground is clear: the enemy has not abided by the agreement, and a genuine ceasefire requires international monitoring, the opening of crossings, a cessation of bombing, and the restoration of fundamental rights. He emphasized that Gaza needs protection, and its residents need justice and fairness.
