Capital Mayor Launches Ramadan Iftar Distribution for Traffic Police

Sana’a: Mayor Dr. Hamoud Ubad launched on Wednesday a project to distribute Ramadan iftar meals to traffic police officers stationed at roundabouts, intersections, and main streets across the Capital Secretariat.

According to Yemen News Agency, the project aims to provide 600 complete iftar meals daily throughout Ramadan to traffic officers on duty. Of these, 400 meals are funded by the Capital Secretariat and 200 by the General Traffic Department.

Mayor Ubad affirmed the leadership’s commitment to supporting traffic police personnel who exert significant efforts during the holy month to maintain traffic discipline and ensure smooth vehicle flow, particularly amid increased congestion from vehicles arriving from various provinces.

He praised the role of traffic officers in serving the public and regulating traffic, especially at iftar time, to safeguard citizens from road accidents.

For his part, Brigadier Najib al-Asadi, Director of Traffic Police in the Capital Sana’a, commended the support provided by the local authority, including daily Ramadan meals and additional equipment and towing vehicles.

He added that the Traffic Department has implemented a plan to enhance traffic management and intensify services across Sana’a’s streets and intersections during Ramadan.
