Capital Secretariat Electricity Department Commemorates Prophet’s Birthday

Sana'a: The General Electricity Department and its branches in the Capital Municipality organized on Tuesday a commemorative event marking the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. During the event, Capital Municipality Secretary Dr. Hamoud Abbad described commemorating the Prophet's birthday as an important educational and spiritual occasion to renew loyalty and attachment to the Messenger of humanity, follow his example and biography, and embody noble Muhammadan values, principles, and morals in conduct and practice.

According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Abbad affirmed that commemorating the birth of the Prophet is deeply rooted in the hearts of Yemenis since the dawn of Prophethood and reflects the depth of their faith-based identity since the early days of Islam. He explained that commemorating the occasion provides an opportunity to draw upon spiritual values, strengthen solidarity, sacrifice, steadfastness, and revive a sense of responsibility by following the example of the Messenger of Allah.

Abbad highlighted the significance of commemorating the occasion, which is important to all Muslims, as an opportunity to recall the life and biography of the Noble Prophet and follow his path. He praised the electricity and water sectors, as well as the role played by ministry leaders and personnel in confronting aggression and the blockade by working to restore power-generation stations and illuminate the streets of the Capital Secretariat during the celebrations marking the Prophet's birthday.

The Capital City Secretariat Secretary called for broad and honorable mobilization for the central event marking this important religious occasion, to be held at Al-Sabeen Square on 12 Rabi' al-Awwal. For his part, Deputy Chairman of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance Dr. Fouad Naji and Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water for the Electricity Sector Ahmed Al-Mutawakkil described commemorating the Prophet's birthday as an annual occasion for drawing upon the blessings and legacy of the one whose birth is being celebrated, thereby strengthening faith, steadfastness, and adherence to the truth.

They affirmed that commemorating the Prophet's birthday is intended to honor and revere the Noble Prophet and recall his life, biography, principles, and great values, which he brought to guide the Ummah toward the path of guidance, goodness, righteousness, and success. Naji and Al-Mutawakkil noted that commemorating this great occasion conveys a message to the entire world of adherence to the Muhammadan message, firm faith in the Holy Qur'an as a way of life and constitution, and following the Noble Prophet as an exemplary model.

They stressed the importance of recalling the principles and values carried by the Noble Prophet and through which he sought to guide humanity, correct misguided concepts and ideas, purify souls, cultivate noble morals, and reinforce the values of mercy, goodness, justice, benevolence, fairness, and protection of rights. The event was attended by Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee of the Capital Secretariat's Local Council; Zakat Authority Undersecretary Ali Al-Saqqaf; Capital Secretariat Assistant Undersecretary Ismail Al-Jarmouzi; and Capital Secretariat Planning Sector official Abdulwahab Sharaf Al-Din.

Director General of the Capital Secretariat Electricity Department Engineer Waleed Al-Mutawakkil explained that commemorating the Prophet's birthday embodies national unity in its finest form. He described Yemenis' celebration of this religious occasion as a natural continuation of the celebrations held by their ancestors, the Aws and Khazraj, and their descendants, the Ansar, who were among the first to welcome the Messenger of Allah upon his arrival in Medina. Engineer Al-Mutawakkil said that the Noble Prophet won people's hearts through his mercy, brought them together through his wisdom, and dispelled ignorance through his knowledge. He stressed that the occasion should serve as an important opportunity to emulate the Noble Prophet, follow his guidance, conduct, adhere to his noble values, and morals.
