Hajjah: Hajjah Governorate organized a speech event on Sunday to mark the anniversary of the passing of the eminent scholar and mujahid, Sayyed Badr al-Din bin Amir al-Din al-Houthi. At the event, which was attended by Deputy Governor Adel Shali, Deputy Governor Muhammad al-Qadi emphasized that the scholar Badr al-Din al-Houthi was not merely a religious scholar, but also an educator, reformer, and sincere mujahid who carried the burdens of the nation and strived to revive its authentic values.
According to Yemen News Agency, at the event, which was also attended by the mobilization official Hamoud al-Maghribi, the deceased was considered one of the leading figures of Islam in the modern era and one of the most prominent figures of the nation who were wronged by the political and social environment of that time, despite their stature and great scholarly standing. Deputy Governor al-Qadi pointed to the importance of commemorating this anniversary to strengthen the presence of scholarly and jihadist figures in the conscience of society and to address current challenges with a vision inspired by the scholarly and jihadist experience of the eminent scholar Sayyed Badr al-Din al-Houthi, considering him a symbol of guidance and steadfastness.
For his part, Allamah Abdulmajid Sharaf al-Din, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, spoke about aspects of the life of Allamah Badr al-Din al-Houthi, his knowledge, his struggle, his contributions, and his insight in guiding the nation back to its Quranic path. He reviewed the deceased's role in confronting intellectual and ideological deviations and his contributions to establishing an authentic Quranic discourse that counters misguidance and restores people's religious and cultural awareness.
Meanwhile, Allamah Muhammad al-Madwahi, a member of the Scholars' Unit, explained that Allamah Badr al-Din al-Houthi revived the religion, confronted falsehood, and left behind a scholarly and jihadist legacy recognized far and wide. He was able to present a model of the scholar-jihadist whose knowledge is inseparable from his responsibility towards his nation. He also reviewed the deceased's role in carrying the banner of truth during a time of alienation, as he was a model of active scholars who were true to their covenant with Allah.
The event, which was attended by a number of executive office directors, scholars, and social, mobilization, and local figures, included a poem by the poet Ali al-Na'mi.
