Sana'a: A joint committee from the Presidency and the Public Prosecution conducted an inspection of prisoner conditions at various detention centers in Sana'a Governorate and the Capital Secretariat. The facilities inspected included the Criminal Prosecution, Hamdan, Bani Matar, Sanhan, Sana'a New District, and Khawlan, as well as the Central Correctional Facility and the Al-Alayah Reserve.

According to Yemen News Agency, the committee comprised the Director General of Prisons and Prisoners Affairs at the Presidency, Jihad Ghathaya, alongside Heads of the Sana'a Governorate Prosecution, Judge Ali Al-Ansi, and the Southern Capital Secretariat Prosecution, Judge Ahmed Al-Qayz. Committee members Akram Al-Hababi and Abdullah Al-Wadhaf were also present. The team matched prisoner records against detention orders and judicial decisions, facilitating the release of eligible prisoners in line with directives from the Revolution Leader and the President of the Supreme Political Council in celebration of the noble Prophet's birth (Mawlid al-Nabawi) 1448 AH.

During the visit, the committee gathered statements from prisoners regarding their detention durations and the procedures followed, particularly concerning public rights. They also reviewed cases involving individuals who had served significant portions of their sentences for non-serious crimes and those pending investigation under guarantees, ultimately approving the release of 105 prisoners.

Jihad Ghathaya emphasized that these releases are a reflection of the revolutionary and political leadership's commitment to prioritizing prisoner welfare, preserving human dignity, and safeguarding rights. He highlighted the Mawlid al-Nabawi as a pivotal spiritual occasion that inspires values of mercy and justice, which the leadership aims to reflect in its humanitarian decisions.

Ghathaya urged those released to embrace their second chance and reintegrate as reformed members of society. He noted that ongoing visits to prosecution and police detention centers are intended to advance case processing and expedite adjudication in accordance with the law, aligning with the spirit of Mawlid al-Nabawi as a moment of tolerance and pardon, embodying the values of the Muhammadan message.
