Al-hodeidah: The Ramadan sports and cultural activities at Al-Ahli Club in Al-Hodeidah concluded on Friday. The events, organized by the club's administration under the patronage of the governor and the supervision of the Youth and Sports Office, saw participation from various sports federations.
According to Yemen News Agency, the closing ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor for Services Affairs Mohamed Halisi, Club Secretary-General Mohamed Al-Qadri, and Director of the Youth and Sports Office Imad Al-Barai. During the event, speeches praised the high level of organization and active engagement in the Ramadan programs. The speakers emphasized that sports activities reflect the clubs' annual work plans and play a vital role in discovering talents and developing youth capabilities in religious, sports, and cultural fields. They also commended the efforts of the organizing committees for the successful execution of the 1447 AH Ramadan season and for fostering a spirit of fair competition.
The ceremony concluded with the honoring of winners in various activities, including Quran memorization and recitation, cultural competitions, table tennis, chess, taekwondo, and volleyball. The top positions were awarded in several categories. In the Quran Competition, Sultan Hassan Salman secured first place in the Full Quran category, while Azzam Mohamed Naji took second place. In Juz' Amma, Moataz Rafat and Youssef Qassem Al-Zubaidi took first and second places, respectively.
Cultural competitions saw the Al-Qadisiyah Team take first place, followed by the Al-Fajr Team in second. In table tennis, the seniors' category was won by Marwan Abdullah Marjan, with Fouad Hassan Haba as the runner-up. Salem Zein and Nader Al-Atas claimed the top two spots in the juniors' category. In chess, Adham Al-Kinai took first place, followed by Abdulkarim Haba and Mohamed Jamal in second and third places, respectively.
Additionally, the club honored teams and coaches in combat and team sports, including karate, taekwondo, wrestling, and volleyball, in recognition of their efforts in representing the club and achieving commendable results.
