Sana'a: A training course on the principles of food processing, organized by the Training and Qualification Center of the Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control, concluded today in Sana'a.
According to Yemen News Agency, the five-day course aimed to provide 30 women trainees from productive families with knowledge and skills in food preservation methods, food safety principles, good manufacturing practices, the importance and requirements of food labeling, food additives, and techniques to prevent defects and problems during production.
At the closing ceremony, the Authority's Deputy Director-General for Standards, Research and Development, Engineer Abu al-Hasan al-Nahari, highlighted the importance of training programs in enhancing the capabilities of productive families and equipping them with information that positively impacts their food production activities. He emphasized the Authority's commitment to organizing training programs and providing technical support to productive families and small business owners, in order to help localize industries and achieve self-sufficiency.
Al-Nahari also stressed the need to adhere to national standards and good manufacturing practices to ensure product quality and safeguard consumer health. He noted that the program included practical training through field visits to food factories.
The ceremony was attended by Acting Director of the Training and Qualification Center, Engineer Ahmad al-Kustaban, along with trainers Engineer Imran al-Sururi and Yara Nijad. Certificates were distributed to the trainees at the conclusion of the course.
