Criminal Court Begins Trial of Spy Cell Linked to British Intelligence

Sanaa: The Specialized Criminal Court in the capital began the first session of the trial of nine defendants accused of belonging to a spy cell linked to a British intelligence network.

According to Yemen News Agency, the first session was presided over by Judge Hussein al-Qa'al and attended by Prosecutor Hilal al-Ubaidi. The defendants - Ali Saleh Mus'ad al-Ammari, Ahmed Khaled Mohammed Ali al-Zarari, Aref Abdullah Abdo Saeed al-Qudsi, Humair Ali Saad al-Sayani, Suleiman Ahmed Mahyoub Mughlis, and Saddam Sadiq Musleh al-Sayyadi - were presented with the indictment and the list of evidence.

The court heard the defendants' responses and requests and decided to continue reviewing the list of evidence and allow the defendants to present their defenses at the next session.
