Sana'a: The cultural and artistic competition activities launched today at Sana'a University, organized by the University Vice Presidency for Student Affairs - represented by the General Administration of Student Activities and the University Student Forum - coinciding with the anniversary of the noble Prophet's birth (Mawlid al-Nabawi) 1448 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the activities, held over four days, include cultural events and competitions in the fields of Holy Quran memorization, chanting in prophetic praise, theater, folk folklore (Bara' and Zawamil), and poetry.
The competition comes within the university's commitment to commemorating the Mawlid al-Nabawi by organizing cultural and artistic activities that contribute to developing students' talents and honing their cultural and artistic abilities, linking university activities to the spirit of this great religious occasion, and contributing to strengthening faith-based identity and instilling moral values among male and female students.
On its first day, the competition began with Quran memorization contests in the categories of complete Quran, half Quran, and ten parts, as well as competitions in folk Bara', prophetic praise chanting, and theater before a specialized judging committee that evaluated the performances of contestants from various university faculties.
In the coming days, the competition will feature a special audience contest including cultural and interactive questions about the Prophet's biography, Islamic history, and folk arts, with valuable prizes allocated to encourage participation, attendance, and interaction.
