Deputy Minister of Youth Inspects Capital Secretariat Scouts’ Traffic Assistance Activities

Sana’a: The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, who also heads the Scout and Guide Association, Nabeh Nasser, conducted an inspection of young scouts participating in initiatives to assist traffic police in managing and regulating traffic on various streets and roundabouts within the Capital Secretariat. This inspection forms part of ongoing scout campaigns aimed at community service.



According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, the Deputy Minister, accompanied by the General Commissioner of Scouting, Abdullah Obaid, assessed the readiness and discipline of the scouts in executing their field tasks. They also reviewed the coordination mechanisms with traffic police and efforts aimed at mitigating traffic congestion and enhancing public awareness about adhering to traffic rules.



The Deputy Minister was briefed by the Commissioner of Scouts in the Capital Secretariat, Ali Shamlan, on the programs and activities of the 11th scout campaigns for community service. These campaigns, implemented by the Scout Commission of the Secretariat for the 11th consecutive year, include voluntary initiatives and humanitarian work that embody the message and educational and national goals of the scout movement.



The Deputy Minister praised the effective role of the Scout Commission of the Secretariat and their commitment to organizing scout campaigns despite limited resources. He acknowledged the leadership of the Commission, district scout leaders, and the youth involved in the scout movement for presenting a commendable model of organized voluntary work.



He emphasized that the scout movement is a crucial element in fostering values of discipline, responsibility, and initiative among youth. The importance of implementing these campaigns, which translate the noble goals of the movement in community service and promote a culture of giving and teamwork, was also stressed.



This year’s scout campaigns include efforts to assist traffic police with over one hundred leaders and scouts participating. Other campaigns focus on cleaning mosques, visiting the wounded, and distributing Eid clothing to needy children, in cooperation with the General Zakat Authority, to enhance community partnership and promote voluntary work.
