Dhamar Launches New Academic Year at Technical and Vocational Institutes

Dhamar: Authorities in Dhamar governorate on Saturday launched the 1448 AH academic and training year at the Industrial Technical Institute and Commercial Technical Institute in Dhamar city. Province Undersecretary Mahmoud al-Jabin, accompanied by Technical and Vocational Education Official Ahmed al-Jarfi, reviewed the start of classes, institute facilities, and the specialized programs offered to students.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, officials received briefings from institute administrators on educational and training plans for the new academic year and the progress of teaching activities across various departments. Al-Jabin stressed the importance of technical and vocational education in preparing qualified national cadres equipped with skills that meet labor market needs, create employment opportunities for young people, and support development efforts.

He praised the commitment of technical education staff in maintaining and improving educational services despite current challenges, while urging students to make the most of the training programs available. For his part, al-Jarfi emphasized the need for coordinated support to technical and vocational institutes to ensure the continuity of education and the provision of training requirements and materials, noting that practical training accounts for more than 70 percent of instruction compared to 30 percent for theoretical learning.
