Sana'a: The Civil Service, Youth and Sports, and Economy offices, alongside the Guidance Sector and the Systems and Secretariat Departments in Al-Thawra District of the Capital Secretariat, organized a commemorative event on Saturday marking the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was attended by Members of Parliament Hamid Rajeh and Muhammad Al-Janidi, and Sharaf Al-Hadi, Head of the Planning and Development Committee of the Capital Secretariat. During the ceremony, Shura Council member Yahya Al-Mahdi highlighted the widespread celebrations of the Prophet's birthday in schools, government institutions, neighborhoods, and communities as an expression of reverence and respect for the Messenger of Allah.
Al-Mahdi emphasized the importance of following the Prophet's example, honoring his legacy, and embodying his values, ethics, and dedication. He noted the distinctiveness of the Yemeni people in celebrating this occasion, reflecting their deep loyalty and love for the Messenger.
Shura Council member Yahya Al-Sharif added that the celebrations serve to inspire values of love, tolerance, and steadfastness in truth, praising the vibrancy of the activities taking place in Al-Thawra District in honor of this sacred occasion. He called for widespread participation in the grand central celebration on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal, highlighting Yemen's steadfast position in supporting Gaza and the oppressed Palestinian people, a reflection of their connection to the Prophet.
Al-Thawra District Director Aqeel Al-Saqqaf spoke about the significance of this religious occasion and the importance of celebrating the birth of the greatest of creation, the light of guidance and mercy to all worlds. He urged citizens to follow the Prophet's example of patience, courage, and devotion, and encouraged a strong turnout for the central celebration on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal to honor the Messenger who led humanity from the darkness of disbelief and ignorance to the light of Islam.
The event, attended by local leaders and directors and staff of the executive offices in the district, included poetry recitations and performances of traditional heritage arts reflecting the occasion.
In a related context, several public and private schools in Al-Thawra District organized student and cultural events to celebrate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. The celebration at Al-Maseela Basic School was attended by Sharaf Al-Hadi, Aqeel Al-Saqqaf, Director of the Educational Area Amin Salah Al-Din and his deputy Muhammad Al-Makhthi, along with other educational leaders and staff.
School Principal Sakina Hajer stated that celebrating the Prophet's birthday strengthens students' connection to the Messenger and instills prophetic values in their hearts. The student activities included speeches, cultural and literary presentations, chants, poetry, and various programs demonstrating reverence, love, and joy in celebrating the birth of humanity's guide and teacher.
