Sana'a: The General Investment Authority organized an introductory meeting in Sana'a to discuss "Incentives, Advantages, and Exemptions in the Investment Law," highlighting significant benefits for investors under Investment Law No. (3) of 2025.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by key figures including Yahya Jumman, Deputy Governor of Sana'a Governorate for the Investment Sector, and Mohammed Salah, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Secretariat. Engineer Mohammed Al-Farza'i, Head of the Investment Operations and Services Sector at the Authority, emphasized the meeting's aim to inform businessmen, investors, and manufacturers about unprecedented customs and tax exemptions, which could extend up to 20 years for productive projects.
Al-Farza'i highlighted the necessity for investors to understand the law's advantages and advocated for a move towards digital transactions via the "Nafitha" electronic investment platform and the One-Stop-Shop Service Center. This center comprises over 13 government entities, designed to streamline approval processes and save investors time and effort.
The event also featured insights from Dr. Nabil Atef, Head of the Industry Sector at the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and Mohammed Qafla, Director General of the Federation. Abdullah Al-Manakhi, Director of the Investment Sectors Promotion Department at the Authority, noted that the meeting builds on previous workshops aimed at fostering partnerships with the private sector by simplifying procedures and activating incentives.
Fawzi Al-Hamadi, Head of the Marketing and Promotion Sector at the Authority, presented a visual overview of the incentives and exemptions under the new law. These include full exemptions from customs and tax duties on fixed assets and spare parts, up to 75% exemptions on production inputs, profit tax exemptions, and special incentives for small, micro, and renewable energy projects. Additionally, investors could benefit from free usufruct or land ownership for the lifespan of their projects.
Ahmed Al-Matari, Head of the Development Team at the Information Technology and Digital Transformation Department, discussed the benefits of the "Nafitha" platform. The meeting concluded with a questionnaire distributed to gather feedback on service levels and to explore proposals for improving the investment environment.
