Sana'a: On this day, May 23, numerous civilians, including women and children, were killed and injured as a result of attacks by US-Saudi-Emirati forces and their mercenaries. These assaults targeted mosques, gas stations, homes, farms, and shops in several governorates across Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, on May 23, 2015, the aggression led to the deaths of three children and wounded six others, including a woman, when airstrikes targeted the Guard Camp in the Kilo 16 area of Ad-Durayhimi District in Hodeida Governorate. The strikes also impacted neighboring facilities, such as the Roads Authority and the Al-Awdi Factory. Further attacks in Amran Governorate resulted in injuries to three civilians when a petrol station and a mosque were bombed.
The air force launched several raids on key roads and cities in multiple governorates, including Al-Qaflah District and Amran Governorate, Ahem, Haradh, At-Tuwal, and Abs in Hajjah Governorate. In the capital Sana'a, airstrikes targeted the reserve forces camp, the Dabwa camp, and Faj Attan, with additional airstrikes hitting various areas in Ma'rib Governorate.
The aggression extended to Saada Governorate, where the Al-Malahiz area experienced missile attacks. Airstrikes also targeted the homes of local figures, resulting in casualties. Over the years, these attacks have continued with varying intensities, affecting multiple governorates and causing numerous civilian casualties.
On May 23, 2016, airstrikes hit the Al-Khadham camp in Bani Hashish district and nearby areas in Sana'a Governorate, while mercenaries in Taiz Governorate destroyed religious shrines and targeted civilian areas with artillery.
In subsequent years, similar patterns of aggression persisted. On May 23, 2017, civilians in Taiz and other governorates faced deadly mortar and air strikes, causing both fatalities and injuries. By May 23, 2018, coalition airstrikes resulted in significant casualties in Hodeida Governorate, including the targeting of a mango farm and a fishing area.
The pattern of violence continued through 2019, 2020, and 2021, with shelling and airstrikes causing loss of life and destruction of property. Combat fortifications were established by mercenaries across various districts, indicating a sustained military presence and activity.
By May 23, 2022, and 2023, reconnaissance aircraft launched multiple attacks, and mercenaries continued to shell various regions, affecting civilian homes and infrastructure. The ongoing conflict has had severe humanitarian consequences, with repeated assaults leading to a continuous state of insecurity and suffering for the Yemeni population.
