Sana'a: Hodeida governor Abdullah Etifi launched on Monday the first phase of the expansion project for the Al-Salif-Ras Isa Road, covering a length of two kilometers.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the inauguration, the governor reviewed the project's components and the planned works under the first phase, which include widening the road and improving its efficiency to enhance traffic flow and raise safety standards along this vital route linking the ports of Al-Salif and Ras Isa.
He also received an explanation from the head of the Roads Maintenance Fund's supervisory team in Hodeida and Raymah, Engineer Zaid Al-Moshki, regarding the implementation plan, project timeline, and approved technical specifications. The project is funded by the local authority in Hodeida province and the Roads Maintenance Fund.
Governor Etifi stressed the importance of the project in improving the province's road infrastructure, describing it as one of the vital projects that contribute to facilitating transportation and supporting economic and commercial activities.
He praised the efforts of the Roads Maintenance Fund in financing priority projects in partnership with the local authority.
The governor also inspected progress on the Al-Sham-Al-Salif Road expansion project, which was launched earlier and extends for 15 kilometers, with the aim of converting it into a dual carriageway.
He received a briefing on the project's components, which have a total cost of 2.5 billion Yemeni riyals and are funded by the local authority and the Roads Maintenance Fund. The project includes the construction of central medians, lighting works, and landscaping, with the aim of improving traffic safety, reducing congestion, and enhancing movement along this strategic route.
