Germany: Hodeidah Governor Abdullah Atefi emphasized the vital role of religious scholars in strengthening societal awareness, consolidating religious and intellectual values, and confronting challenges targeting the nation during this sensitive stage. During field visits and meetings held on Tuesday with a number of scholars and jurists from various Islamic schools and academic institutions, including universities, mosques, religious centers, and Sharia schools across the province, Governor Atefi noted that the exceptional circumstances facing the nation require mobilizing efforts to reinforce the values of unity, brotherhood, and adherence to the teachings of Allah.
According to Yemen News Agency, Atefi stated that 'scholars are the inheritors of the prophets and beacons of guidance,' bearing great responsibility in directing hostility toward the true enemies of the nation. He also stressed the importance of activating the role of mosques and educational institutions in confronting soft war tactics and intellectual invasion schemes aimed at undermining the identity of the Yemeni people.
Governor Atefi warned against what he described as misleading terminology promoted by aggression forces to strip religion of its jihadist and moral values, stressing that unity among different Islamic schools of thought remains the strongest weapon in confronting challenges. He affirmed that the shared principles and common values uniting the nation are far greater than attempts to incite sectarian or regional divisions.
The governor also reviewed what he described as conspiracies targeting Yemen, explaining that hostile forces have sought to target minds through organized misinformation campaigns, placing scholars before a historic responsibility to expose falsehood and protect youth from destructive and alien ideologies promoted by global Zionism and its agents.
Atefi affirmed that the local authority views scholars as the foundation for national renaissance, development, and social reform, emphasizing that the state serves as a supporter of scholars in carrying out their mission freely and independently in a way that safeguards the interests of Islam, Muslims, and preserves Yemen's dignity and sovereignty. He highlighted the importance of strengthening awareness-oriented discourse in confronting the ongoing aggression and challenges facing the country, alongside attempts to influence public consciousness through various means.
The governor praised the historical legacy of scholars in Tihama and Hodeidah, known for moderation, balance, and commitment to the causes of the nation, considering their active presence a strong message that Hodeidah will remain a model of coexistence and a beacon of knowledge and awareness. Atefi also called on preachers and religious guides to intensify awareness efforts in exposing enemy schemes and enhancing popular steadfastness, affirming that the words of scholars during this stage constitute a form of jihad in the cause of Allah and contribute to achieving victory for the Yemeni people.
For their part, the scholars affirmed their united support for the revolutionary and political leadership in confronting all challenges and threats. They stressed that enemy attempts to sow division would fail in the face of the scholars' awareness and steadfastness, while expressing appreciation for the provincial leadership's concern for their conditions and support for religious and educational work.
