Sana'a: The Entesaf Organization for Women and Children's Rights on Wednesday released a human rights report titled Cries Under Occupation, documenting major violations and abuses committed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE in Yemen's southern and eastern provinces. At a press conference in Sana'a, the organization highlighted the humanitarian crisis and human rights violations resulting from these alleged abuses.
According to Yemen News Agency, the report addressed the legal characterization of the Saudi and Emirati presence, the humanitarian and living conditions in the affected provinces, adding that the forced disappearances and secret detention centers, as well as violations against women and children. It also documented the UAE-Saudi attacks on civilian areas and facilities, economic and service deterioration, and the exploitation of natural resources.
Entesaf called for the immediate withdrawal of foreign military forces, restoration of full national sovereignty, closure of illegal detention centers, disclosure of the fate of forcibly disappeared persons, and the prosecution of those responsible for alleged violations. The report also urged greater humanitarian assistance, economic reforms, protection of freedom of expression, and the easing of restrictions on land, sea and air crossings to facilitate the movement of civilians and trade.
