Sana'a: Ibb governor Abdulwahid Salah on Wednesday inspected the progress of the pediatric ward building project at Al-Udayn General Hospital in Al-Udayn District today. He reviewed the level of completion and the medical and service equipment being installed.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Salah received a briefing from the hospital director, Dr. Jamal Basha, on the project's implementation phases. The project, costing $230,000 and funded by the Yeman Foundation, is 80% complete. Dr. Basha noted that the building represents a significant addition to the healthcare services provided to children in the district and surrounding areas.
The hospital director explained that the project includes several vital facilities, such as pediatric wards, an intensive care unit, and incubators for premature infants. He added that the Yeman Foundation is also providing some of the furniture, essential equipment, and an elevator, all of which will contribute to improving the ward's readiness and enhancing the quality of medical care.
The governor also inspected the solar power system installed at the hospital, which has an operational capacity of 850 kilowatts. This system, supported by the World Health Organization, will contribute to enhancing the stability of the electricity supply and ensuring the continued operation of vital departments, especially given the increasing energy needs of healthcare facilities.
Governor Salah emphasized that the local authority prioritizes the health sector and is working to support projects aimed at developing the infrastructure of hospitals and medical facilities. This will positively impact the level of services provided to citizens, particularly in districts that require strengthening their healthcare capabilities.
