Kahlan affar: Dr. Ahmed Nassar, Member of Parliament, and Ismail Al-Muhaim, Secretary-General of the Local Council in Hajjah Governorate, inaugurated several road projects implemented through community initiatives in Kahlan Affar District on the occasion of the Prophet's Birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the projects, supported by the Emergency Development Interventions Unit of the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development, the local authority, and the community, are valued at 114 million and 94 thousand Yemeni riyals. The projects include addressing landslides at Tal'at Beit Al-Awra, rerouting behind 22 May School on Al-Mushaib Road in Bani Moheb, opening a road in Mahal Al-'Arqa and the historic Afar Fort, and paving and improving Tal'at Muthab Al-Qarah in Bani Moheb.
The initiatives also involve paving, improving, and widening the Maghrabah-Afar road, paving and enhancing Al-Shariq Road in the center of Sabrah village, completing and improving Shua' Al-Makhraq road, and reopening the Bani Al-Turabi 'Arshan road.
At the inauguration, the Secretary-General of the Local Council acknowledged the community's active support in assisting state efforts in development and reconstruction, highlighting the role of the Emergency Development Interventions Unit in alleviating citizens' hardships and facilitating movement between villages. He emphasized that road projects are a priority for the governorate's leadership, reflecting a strong commitment to linking villages and districts.
Meanwhile, MP Dr. Nassar commended the progress in the governorate's road sector and the collaborative efforts between the local authority, the interventions unit, and the community. During the ceremony, Mahmoud Wahban, Director of the Economy, Industry, and Investment Office, and Abdulwahab Sanan, representative of the Emergency Development Interventions Unit, noted that more than 20 road projects in the district are still under implementation and will be completed in the coming period, emphasizing the community's generous contribution.
Bassem Hamidan, Director of the District, also praised the role of the interventions unit, the local authority, and the community in implementing road projects, calling on citizens to continue supporting community initiative projects. The attendees reviewed the progress of several road projects supported by the unit, the local authority, and the community.
Additionally, Al-Muhaim, Nassar, and Ammar Lutf Allah, Head of the Planning and Finance Committee in the local council, inspected rockfall areas in Naqil Al-Khuthali caused by water accumulation atop Al-Khuthali Mountain and the necessary remedial measures.
