Sana'a: The Environmental Health Department of the Sana'a Governorate Public Works Office carried out an inspection campaign today targeting restaurants, grills, and mobile shawarma outlets in the city center to assess their compliance with public health requirements.

According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign is part of the department's regulatory plan to strengthen field oversight of food establishments, evaluate their adherence to health and environmental standards, and provide guidance to owners and workers on maintaining hygiene and food safety practices.

The Director of the Environmental Health Department, Majid Awadh, explained that the campaign includes field visits to food service establishments, particularly restaurants, fast-food outlets, bakeries, and other consumer-related activities that directly affect public health.

He noted that during the first day of inspections, several health violations were recorded. The offenders will be referred to the competent authorities for investigation and legal action.

Awadh confirmed that the inspection teams will continue monitoring violations and enforcing strict legal measures against establishments that fail to comply with health standards. He urged owners and operators of food establishments to cooperate with inspectors and contribute to preserving public health and community safety.
