Sana'a: A joint committee assigned by the Revolution Leader and the President of the Supreme Political Council to address prisoners' cases inspected the conditions of inmates at the Ibb Central Correctional Facility on Saturday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the committee, which includes representatives from the Public Prosecution, the Judicial Inspection Authority, the Grievances Authority, and the Ministry of Interior, engaged with inmates to hear their complaints and demands. The committee assessed the conditions within the facility and reviewed the duration of custody for the inmates.
Committee chairman Sheikh Ali Qershah emphasized the committee's ongoing efforts to visit prisons, review inmates' files, and provide assistance in accordance with the law. This includes options such as pardoning remaining sentences, aiding those unable to meet financial obligations, or facilitating reconciliation with adversaries.
Sheikh Qershah highlighted the commitment of the Revolution Leader and the Supreme Political Council to alleviate the hardships faced by inmates and their families. He also underscored the role of businessmen and philanthropists in supporting inmates who lack financial resources and noted the committee's readiness to provide necessary data for cases eligible for assistance.
