Sana'a: Iran has begun producing oil from the Susangerd oil field in Khuzestan province, southwestern Iran, for the first time, following the commissioning of well number 4, 20 years after the field's discovery. According to Yemen News Agency, the Iranian news agency Tasnim quoted Hamid Deris, CEO of Arvandan Oil and Gas Company, on Sunday as saying that oil production from the Susangerd field has commenced after nearly 20 years since its discovery, entering the production phase for the first time after the drilling and repair of well number 4, under his company's supervision. He explained that developing the Susangerd oil field is one of the company's important projects, noting that the commissioning of well number 4 not only marks the beginning of production from the field for the first time, but also represents the actual starting point for implementing its development plan. He added that it reflects the capabilities of the company's experts in directly managing technical and development operations. The CEO of Arvandan Oil and Gas stated that the field's expected production capacity is 18,000 barrels per day during the first phase of its development. He noted that subsequent phases include broader plans to increase production from this field.
