Sana'a: The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnasser Hemmati, announced that Iran will soon join the New Development Bank (NDB) of the BRICS group, considering its establishment one of the most significant outcomes of cooperation among the group's member states.
According to Yemen News Agency, Hemmati, speaking during his participation in the BRICS summit in India, said that positive cooperation has begun between Iran and India in the monetary, banking, and digital economy sectors. He noted that the BRICS summit presents an important opportunity for officials from member states to meet, particularly given the expanding monetary and banking exchanges and interactions between Iran and the group's countries.
Hemmati explained that the BRICS countries are striving to enhance trade in national currencies, in addition to developing forms of bilateral and trilateral monetary cooperation among their members.
